Not Your Mother's Déjà Vu 'Do VOXBOX

One of the items in my vox box (see previous post, free items for review) was a Not Your Mother's brand style extender.
Anyone who knows me knows I have frizz issues and I'm constantly searching for anything that works.
The first thing I noticed about this product is that it smells great.
I applied it to my wet hair and noticed another bonus, it didn't leave my hands sticky.

About an hour later w with mostly dry hair you can see the frizz is tame but certainly not gone. I liked this brand and will try other products but I'm not sure this was the one for me. To be fair, hold isn't what I'm usually looking for.#NYMdjvd #contest

VoxBox

In case you haven't heard of it, Influenster is a product review site.  You can review products that are new to you or products you really love anyway.  The more active you are, both on the site and in social media, the more likely you are to get a VoxBox.

Every month the company sends out a VoxBox to some lucky members.  In return for the completly free products, you just tell the world (via social media) what you thought.

I just got my first box this week. I am really excited, who doesn't love free stuff? I'll probably review each product seperatly. But this is what I got:

Garden

Last time we tried a garden we had to move in the middle of the summer and didn't get to eat the results.
Two  years ago we just had the boys help their grandparents, in KC.
Last year we just didn't try.
Yosef was adamant about a garden this year, since not much else seems to interest him outside of a computer, we decided to try. When I came home from clinicals Saturday, my ambitious husband had tilled half the yard.  All day Sunday we worked on making rows and planting, it was harder work than I thought.  We planted about ten different things.
Today it is pouring down rain, I hope all the seeds don't just wash away.

Bountiful Baskets

I finally remembered to order and try this out.  Its a food co-op.  You contribute on Monday and pick up your share on Saturday.  You don't know what you will get other than it is about half fruit and half vegetables. http://bountifulbaskets.org/
The first week we ordered just one, since we didn't know what to expect.

My children being fruit mongers.. we went through that by the time the weekend was over.  But the vegetables were a good amount and variety so we found uses for them over the week.

This time we got two baskets and a flat of strawberries (8lbs).  The strawberries were among a list of extras (you have to get at least one basket to get the extra, but you do know ahead of time what you are getting) just to give you an idea, I passed on 25lbs of oranges, organic Granola, a bread variety, and a guacamole box.  Next week we might get some bread, what I saw ppl picking up looked pretty good.  With two baskets even my kids couldn't eat all the fruit at once, and I don't think we will be upping it to three.

I will have to check in again next week to evaluate the actual value.  First, I had to adjust my shopping day this week to the weekend.  Otherwise I am buying stuff at the store and getting it again on Saturday.  Secondly, it only has good value if I eat it all before it spoils.  Guess its time to learn to cook squash....

29-30

29 I am grateful for health, being sick this week reminded me I am grateful that I am largely a healthy and functional person.  There are so many things that can afflict the human body. I am thankful that I have been spared them.

30- Finally, I am grateful for HaShem.  He makes all of the other 29 things possible.  He is the only reason there is.  There is not really anything I can say except I am glad He loves me

19**20**21

19
I am thankful that my husband has a job.  With all the politics and economic troubles.  I am SO thankful that we have an income right now that can support our family.
\\20
I am thankful for my education.  Past and future.  I am thankful that I live in a place where women are allowed an education.  I am thankful for parents who taught me to value education and thinking for yourself.  I am thankful for the chance to educate my children.  And I am thankful for the chance to finally complete my education.

21
I am thankful for my marriage.  (I know I already said I was thankful for my husband but this is different).  I am thankful that after thirteen years we still are here.  I am thankful that we both know the value of working hard at marriage when the world around us doesn't think its that important.  I am thankful that I am in a marriage with equal partners who respect each other, not a boss and a servant.  I am thankful for a partner in my parenting efforts and a cheerleader in my personal struggles   I am thankful that I got to choose my own partner and that G-d provided a great one.
